Description Indications E mal Injection is indicated for: Severe Plasmodium falciparum malaria, including cerebral malaria. Second-line treatment for chloroquine-resistant malaria. Dosage The typical dosage for adults is: Adult Dose: 150 mg once daily for 3 consecutive days Children Dose: 75 mg once daily for 3 consecutive days Side Effects Common side effects include: Headache Nausea or vomiting Dizziness Pain at the injection site Stomach discomfort Chills and rigor Weakness Low white blood cell and platelet count. Precautions Allergies: Do not use if you are allergic to artemisinin derivatives or any other ingredients in the injection. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Not recommended unless necessary. Kidney Impairment: Use with caution due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Severe Malaria: Should be used only when other treatments like quinine are ineffective.
