Description Indications: It’s indicated for the treatment of infections due to susceptible strains of designated microorganisms, including: Upper respiratory tract infections Infections of the ear, nose, and throat Genitourinary tract infections Skin and skin structure infections Lower respiratory tract infections Dosage: Adults: 750-1750 mg/day in divided doses every 8 to 12 hours. Pediatric Patients over 3 Months: 20 to 45 mg/kg/day in divided doses every 8 to 12 hours. Neonates and infants (less than 3 months): Up to 30mg/kg/day divided every 12 hours. Side Effects: Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or rash. Serious and occasionally fatal anaphylactic reaction have been reported in patients on penicillin therapy. Precautions: Inform your doctor if you have an allergy to amoxicillin, any penicillin, or any other part of the suspension. Monitor blood work if on amoxicillin suspension for a long time. It may affect certain lab tests, including urine glucose tests for diabetics. Use additional birth control methods as amoxicillin may reduce the effectiveness of hormonal contraceptives.
