Description Indication Aldomet is indicated for the management of hypertension. It can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agent. Dosage Initial Dose: The usual starting dose is 250 mg two or three times a day for the first 48 hours. Maintenance dose: 500 mg to 2 g daily in divided doses Dosage adjustments are made based on the patient’s response and tolerance to the medication. Side Effects Common side effects of Aldomet include: Drowsiness Dizziness Headache Weakness Serious side effects may include: Lightheadedness Pale or yellowed skin Dark-colored urine Fever Confusion Uncontrolled muscle movements Rapid weight gain Precautions Liver disease: Not recommended for patients with acute liver disease. Hemolytic anemia: Discontinue if evidence of hemolytic anemia appears.
