Dosage The dosage of Diamet varies based on individual needs and medical advice. Commonly prescribed dosages include: Initial dose: 500 mg twice daily or 850 mg once daily, taken with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects. Maintenance dose: 1500 mg to 2550 mg, divided into two or three doses Maximum dose: 2550 mg per day Side Effects Common side effects of Diamet include: Nausea and vomiting Diarrhea Abdominal pain Loss of appetite Weakness Precautions Allergies: Do not take Diamet if you are allergic to metformin or any other ingredients in the medication.
